Back in the day, I lived in a house with terrible insulation with my two best friends. We drank quite a bit at this bar called Charlie’s Cellar, where Charlie (a girl) would bartend, and get us to put things lightly, intoxicated. this happened over a year. We’d walk back to the house, I’d kick trash cans, we’d yell at TCU kids. But some Sundays the hangover would spark creativity.

This is the tale of one such sunday:

I stumbled across this somewhere in my internet travels. It’s really really awesome. I think I showed it to 20 people yesterday, got lots of mixed feedback. Everything from, eh that’s ok, to ‘now that’s some f’ing music’. I really hope there’s a CD available for purchase somewhere. Anyway, here ya go. Turns out he’s also a pretty solid designer, and has done quite a few cool things.

cashing in on ‘being green’

I haven’t taken clothes to the dry cleaners in forever. seriously, forever. I saw this place on Henderson close to my house called ‘Eco Cleaners’ and thought that sounds cool. I didn’t know how wrong I was. Granted, as far as just being a dry cleaners goes, they didn’t necessarily fail. However on the topics of not wasting paper, and being even remotely reasonable, failure is probably the first of a laundry list of words I would use. I think I had maybe 12 shirts laundered, and one pair of pants. Grand total was like $60. Then I get home and am getting the plastic wrap off of them to find out they stuffed paper down all the sleeves of my shirts. I realize what they’re going for, keeping the sleeves from sticking together and keeping them unwrinkled. But generating this much waste, recyclable or not isn’t exactly green.

I used to hate colors like pink and red, I think I’m beginning to hate green.

New Home

I just picked up the keys to my new place today. I haven’t been this pumped about moving since I moved into a 3/2 section 8 apartment. Needless to say I feel I may be a bit more justified this go round. There are 2 claw foot tubs, a mud room, and a balcony attached to my bedroom. I’ll post some interiors when I get settled in.

Getting around to getting online..

It’s been a really long time since I put any effort into my stale stale web presence. It’s been bothering me lately. So here I am. throwing a theme I have barely researched on a tidy new wordpress install. I wanted something clean, that will be fun to customize later on. Quick search through some bookmarks lead me to nalinmakar.com for the HemmingwayEx theme. At the moment I’m still working out the kinks, but I like where it’s headed. Here’s to my bright bright future on the interwebs.
