ThisIsSketch.com - Explanation

So I had this idea a few years ago with my good buddy Nathan Low to start a sketch comedy webisode kind of site. We as usual put it off for a while (read 2.5 years) and are kind of kicking it around again. We threw together a few random vids while we work on putting together our first ‘episode’. Enjoy.

cashing in on ‘being green’

I haven’t taken clothes to the dry cleaners in forever. seriously, forever. I saw this place on Henderson close to my house called ‘Eco Cleaners’ and thought that sounds cool. I didn’t know how wrong I was. Granted, as far as just being a dry cleaners goes, they didn’t necessarily fail. However on the topics of not wasting paper, and being even remotely reasonable, failure is probably the first of a laundry list of words I would use. I think I had maybe 12 shirts laundered, and one pair of pants. Grand total was like $60. Then I get home and am getting the plastic wrap off of them to find out they stuffed paper down all the sleeves of my shirts. I realize what they’re going for, keeping the sleeves from sticking together and keeping them unwrinkled. But generating this much waste, recyclable or not isn’t exactly green.

I used to hate colors like pink and red, I think I’m beginning to hate green.

I love pandora. I also love tychomusic. I want to love them both at the same time. I threw together a slick little page that will track the twitter search term #tychomusic and update automatically. Maybe showing this to a few friends, Scott Hansen, and Pandora will be enough to make it happen. I dream of the day…

until then, please visit tychomusic.landonwisely.com and send a tweet with #tychomusic in it. Thanks!!

New Home

I just picked up the keys to my new place today. I haven’t been this pumped about moving since I moved into a 3/2 section 8 apartment. Needless to say I feel I may be a bit more justified this go round. There are 2 claw foot tubs, a mud room, and a balcony attached to my bedroom. I’ll post some interiors when I get settled in.

Crater Lake, OR

I have been planning a trip to crater lake with my dad for what feels like forever. They got record snowfall last year, and there were still a few feet of snow on the ground, not really thin enough to make the trip enjoyable, so we switched locations to Pagosa Springs, CO. the trip was awesome. But of course with views like this, who wouldn’t secretly be thinking about Crater Lake?

It’s looking like the end of summer will be ideal for a week long trip, hopefully starting somewhere 60-70miles-ish away from the crater and finish up with a few days at the rim. I’m pumped. I think the only thing missing from my backpack to make it happen is the Leica D-LUX4

leica-dlux-4

It’s a sweet upgrade from the D-LUX 3 which I suggested for a friend who was traveling Europe a while back. I like the flip of the switch aspect ratio change a lot. And the fact that it (plust a handful of batteries) would be at least 6lbs lighter than my 20d + lens + batteries is a huge plus. I’m toying with the idea of creating a GPS tracking solution for the trip so (in possibly near real time) you could track our progress. Have any insight there? Know someone who does? Please please let me know.

Later all.
